James C. Hunt is a Biomedical Engineer from San Diego California who joined the Blaber lab in 2023. Over the years, he has worked with Dr. Angela Kubik, NASA Ames collaborators, and Dr. Aleeza Zilberman on microCT & bone signaling work, with Dr. Noah Allen on liver aging and injury research, and with current graduate students, Brycelyn Whitman & Ruth Singh on spaceflight multi-organ microphysiological systems research and construction for organogenesis. He also ran his own transcriptomics study to understand spaceflight’s effect on the Spleen. His main focus has been on microphysiological systems and organogenesis research. James’s favorite spot to eat in Troy is Dinosaur Barbecue, and his hobbies include hiking, piano, mountain biking, and rock climbing. After graduating from RPI including 3 years of research in the Blaber Lab, he is now pursuing a research M.S. with Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic at Columbia University in organ-on-a-chip research.
