Being from a much warmer climate, Meghan Pendyala hopes that she survives the winters in upstate New York. She was born in St. Louis, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and graduated high school from Austin, Texas. She went back to the midwest and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science from Saint Louis University. Her research involves understanding how mechanical loading impacts hyaluronan turnover in the joint. While not working, Meghan enjoys producing music, cooking, and laying on the couch with a good book and coffee.
Her research focus revolves around understanding the roles of hyaluronan within the musculoskeletal system: from understanding the mechanobiology of synovial fibroblasts and loss of hyaluronan on bone health, to the impact of simulated microgravity on whole joint structure.
